 This month he was more into crayons than stickers so we did a lot of coloring. We also had some sick days towards end of month and crayons and bubbles were the only things he was interested in at that time. Banana bread: I just used a recipe off the internet. Added some chocolate chips to make him happy! I always find having the ingredients measured and laid out before he joins in is always easier for my mental stress and the mess! Sensory bins: Kinetic sand was store bought. We used tractors, dump trucks and some other vehicles to play with it. Garden: I used cocoa powder and oil together to make some mud. I had some pebbles, small plastic pots and artificial flowers to "plant". He had more fun playing with the rocks though.  Cloud playdoh: I was supposed to search for a recipe on the internet but I couldn't find one that i had ingredients for so ended up using just rice powder and water. He showed a lot of interest in craft work this month, mainly using stickers so we made Christmas cards for all those we knew, which is why so many days are dedicated to making cards! Pictures of the cards we made are posted in the December gallery post. Kitchen activities like baking the cake, icing the cake and making gingerbread cookies was fun, though they were messy activities and there is a lot of tasting going on during them. I found that having all ingredients measured and laid out before he joined me was the best for my sanity! We also used some gingerbread dough as playdoh the next day. Science experiments- we tried two:  Milk in a saucepan, food dye mixed with little water in a few bowls (different colors) and a bowl with little dish soap. Use a Q-tip to dip in food dye bowl and then dip it in milk. Now use another Q-tip to dip in dish soap bowl and then touch it to the food dye drop in milk and watch it spread beautifully.  November activities in more detail: Rainbow song: Ms.Rachel on YouTube . Made a rainbow with just the 7 colored crayons out so that he could pass me the right color. Wiggle and Giggle song ( Preschool Learn to Dance: Wiggle and Giggle-  Dance 'n Beats Lab ) Animal movements- crawl like a snake, walk on arms like crab, hop like bunny, jump like frog, slouch and walk like a bear, stomp around like dinosaur. Ended each one in tickles to stay interested! Memorial Day Poppy song: The Kiboomers For pumpkin dough just added pumpkin puree to whole wheat flour and kneaded. Cannot store this though. Poppy making- cut out a large poppy in paper and gave rounded sketch pens to color. Gave him a colored paper, spray bottle, a cotton ball and some flour. Idea was to spray a little water on paper and then dab the cotton ball with flour on it. But became just him doing his own thing.
