July Activities In Detail

 - Songs: Our play is centered around songs because he enjoys songs. For Sun/ Moon we did "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star", "Oh Mr Sun Sun Mr Golden Sun" (Ms. Rachel) and "Zoom Zoom Zoom, we are going to the moon!"

    -  Opposites song- This is Big, this is Small is another favorite. We also used it for shadow play (hold your mobile flashlight behind your hand to create a shadow on the wall and move the light around to make the shadow of your hand big, small and so on).

    - Story Time: We used "Five Little Monkeys jumping on the bed" with a monkey prop and actions to tell the story.

    - Pretend sleep: We used "See the bunny sleeping till it's nearly noon" (Ms. Rachel).

    - Friendship song: Cocomelon song "How do you do"

    - Action Song: I used "Humpty Dumpty Sat on the wall" using a big bouncy ball and substituting Humpty with my name and wall with ball. It was fun bouncing on the ball and falling down.

- Superheroes- Wear a Cape (Towel) over your T-shirt and fly like SuperMan or crawl on the walls and shoot webs like Spider Man.

- Bubbles and Body Parts: Bubbles are a favorite. This was Bubbles as treat for copying me or pointing to the right body part when I call the part out.

- Homemade Popsicle recipe: 1 cup frozen mango, half tablespoon honey, 1 tspn lemon juice and little water. Pour into mould and freeze for 4-5 hours.

- Opposites game: I laid out some objects for him to choose- tall and short water bottles, big and small balls.

- Car wash- This was easy and fun, just filled a bucket with soapy water and threw some cars in there and gave him a brush and towel. He spent a good 20 minutes with it!

- Animal sea creatures: I printed out some sea animals pics on one paper and placed it under a glass container filled with batter and a drop of blue food color.  I used a glass tumbler to look at each sea creature by placing it on that picture.

- Colors - we read a book and spotted colors in it.

- Sensory Bin: I had this filled with letter beads, pipe cleaners, pom poms. I gave him a funnel and a big jar.

- Picnic day: We went strawberry picking this day and took our lunch to have it there.

- Sandwich making: We made a sandwich for me (he wouldn't eat it) with bread, a patty, cucumber and tomato slices on it.

- Animal movements: Stomp like an elephant/ dinosaur, gallop like a horse, crouch like a bear, frog jump, bunny hop, snake slide.

- Pretend play: Used a foam stick to gallop like a horse and a baking round tray to pretend drive a car.

- Bubble art: This was our craft for the month but honestly he wasn't interested. I tried mixing food color to soap water and I thought the colors in the bubbles would be more obvious, but that was not the case. We played with the bubbles as he normally would but he wasn't interested in slapping the bubbles on a piece of paper. I ended up doing this mainly on my own!

- Vegetables and fruits: I wrapped some vegetables and fruits in his T-shirts and he had fun unwrapping them and then matching it to its picture in a book.

- Hopscotch: We just did a hop game with dice where we rolled it and jumped/ hopped that many times.

- Musical instruments: We had some play musical instruments to bang around!

- Dress Up! : Idea was to try some costumes but he wasn't super interested lol!
